WETLAB Advanced DSAEK and DMEK

Service Description

The advanced DSAEK and DMEK WETLAB aims to demonstrate how to perform a corneal transplant using DSAEK (Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty) surgery in complicated cases and the basics of the DMEK (Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty) technique. Lectures will be alternated with manual exercises and practical tests on human corneal tissue. Participants will have the opportunity to experience all phases of DSAEK and DMEK corneal transplantation. Clinical pictures, surgical videos, and postoperative management will also be illustrated during the course. During the meeting, through alternating theoretical and practical sessions, the pros and cons of the aforementioned transplant technique will be highlighted. The course will offer participants the opportunity to experience all phases of corneal transplantation firsthand on corneal flaps.
