DMEK, Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty

The WETLAB DMEK aims to show students how to perform a corneal transplant using the DMEK (Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty) surgery technique.

Lectures will alternate with hands-on exercises and practical tests on human corneal tissue. Participants will have the opportunity to experience all phases of a DMEK corneal transplant. Clinical pictures, surgical videos, and postoperative management will also be illustrated during the course.

During the meeting, through alternating theoretical and practical sessions, the pros and cons of the aforementioned transplant technique will be highlighted.

The course will offer participants the opportunity to experience firsthand all the phases of corneal transplantation on corneal flaps.
