DSAEK, Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty

The DSAEK WETLAB aims to show students how to perform a corneal transplant using the DSAEK (Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty) technique.

Lectures will alternate with hands-on exercises and practical tests on human corneal tissue. Participants will have the opportunity to experience all phases of DSAEK corneal transplantation. Clinical pictures, surgical videos, and postoperative management will also be illustrated during the course.

During the meeting, through alternating theoretical and practical sessions, the pros and cons of the aforementioned transplant technique will be highlighted.

The course will offer participants the opportunity to experience firsthand, on corneal flaps, all phases of corneal transplantation.
